ECA Black History Month event: Celebrating Black women’s personal histories

ECA is planning its Black History Month celebration on Saturday, 16 October 2021 at Millfield , Edmonton from 3pm. The event will be a celebration of Black Women in our recent history.

Enfield Caribbean Association (ECA) is planning its Black History Month celebration on Saturday, 16 October 2021 at Millfield from 3pm. The event will be a celebration of Black Women in our recent history. The event will include a discussion about women of the Windrush generation who left the Caribbean and Africa in the 1950s and 60s and came to rebuild a war-damaged Britain.

A round table discussion on the black women who personally influenced the lives and directions of our panel guests.  This panel will include Bonnie Greer OBE - Playwright, novelist, critic, and broadcaster, Delia Mattis – Black Lives Matter and other contributors to be confirmed 

Workshops are also planned during the afternoon on:

  • Mental health & well-being
  • Women in politics
  • Fitness & empowerment
  • Financial empowerment

The evening will be completed with an ECA networking party, where everyone can share a drink, chill and relax and discuss some of ideas raised by the panel discussion or workshops.
