Events

As a result of the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic crisis in the UK, we had to temporarily adjust our events and activities. We went digital with some activities such as the Windrush celebration. Introduced social distancing for our elders who can join us to exercise outdoor in parks at Pymmes Park, every Wednesday at 10am throughout the Summer.

Enfield Caribbean Assocation has been following the guidance and  advice from national government and liaising with Enfield Council to plan our to Black History month celebrations.

We held our annual general meeting on Thursday 16th September at  Community House, 311 Fore Street, Edmonton N9 0PZ. Click here to review our Annual Report.

Black Women in History: Their hidden stories is the theme for this year’s Black History Event organised by Enfield Caribbean Association. The event is being held on Saturday 16 October at the Millfield Theatre from 3pm.

Tickets are £10, £8 (concessions) via the Millfield Theatre, Silver Street, Edmonton, N18 1PJ. Tel: 0208 807 6680 / email: ticket@oneenfield.co.uk / www.millfieldtheatre.co.uk

Have a look at our Black History Month page for more details of our previous events or our news section for any updates to this event.

In the past, ECA has contributed to many local initiatives, including a campaign to mark the bicentenary of the 1807 Abolition of the North Atlantic Slave trade with the commemorative plaques now in place at Enfield Civic Centre, Edmonton Library and Community House, Enfield.

With your support we can continue to provide these vital services to the BME community and achieve our mission to make the ECA a strong, independent voice for equality and social justice in Enfield.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

The corona virus has hit us all unexpectedly and has affected everything that we do. It has caused us to change our everyday habits and has led to isolation particularly for the elderly and vulnerable. We are working with StreetWatch Edmonton on a joint project called Together Our Community Survives (TOCS) to identify and deliver food to BAME and other ethnic groups. We are only accepting registration for volunteers at the moment. No new elders can be accommodated unless we have more volunteers. To volunteer an hour of your time, please contact Dionne on 07915 919524.
